A Brief Introduction to Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis has existed since the beginning of the human race.
It is an altered state of consciousness, occurring naturally when you are so focused on something, so much so you become oblivious to everything else around you.
And you be surprise to know you actually experience some form of hypnotic state several times a day.
An example, when you driving home in your car (sometimes inebriated) and before you realised you arrive home safely as if on auto pilot. Other occurrences of hypnotic states are day dreaming or spacing out – thletics zoning out in full concentration in competition.
Various depth of hypnotic or trance state is reached during meditation, ritual chanting or praying.
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is one of many complementary therapies which may bring about a therapeutic behavioral change in a person without the use of drugs and is noninvasive.
Post hypnotic suggestions are given by hypnotherapist speaking to the client’s unconscious mind while under hypnosis. It is believe the unconscious mind is more open to suggestions than the conscious mind.
